This is a Club dedicated to hating Akane and the Ranma and Akane parring. Here are some of the reasons why I and probably many others hate Akane and the RanmaxAkane parring.

Why We Hate Her

I hate Akane because I just think she’s a crapy, character. The girl is mean, rude, violent, has no talent, and is the worst looking female in the series. I can see that Rumiko made her that way purposely for story line humor but to be honest, 38 volumes and almost 100 episodes of the same crap from her, just isn’t humors anymore. Now don’t get me wrong I wasn’t always an Akane hater. I actually use to like her when I first started watching Ranma ½ but that was because the first episode I ever saw was “An Akane to Remember” where she was actually nice for once. Then I got to watch the first 5 episodes later on and I got a little turned off from Akane but not enough to make me hate her yet. It wasn’t until a little later that I started to get really tired of her immature jealousy issues and stupid anger problems. I have even made a list of reasons why I hate her.

1) She has ugly short navy blue hair, brown eyes, and some of the ugliest fashion sense I have ever seen in an anime character. Now I know that looks aren’t suppose to be important in relationships but this isn’t real life, it’s an anime, meaning that styles and colors of their, eyes, skin, hair and clothing, are made in a specific way, as to make a statement about the character’s personality. The statement Akane gives off is "Ugly tomboy that tries to be a girly girl."

2) She sucks at every thing she tries to do, even when someone tries to teach her. She has absolutely no talent in anything. Just to make it clear here is a list.

Martial arts
Swimming
Crochet (Remember in the OVA the Tendo Family Christmas Scramble. That scarf she gave Ranma was hideous)

Things she’s good at
Jogging

I must say that the whole swimming thing is by far one of the most ridicules things I have ever seen. Honistly, what kind of stupid person can't swim with an inner tube and floaties. I mean, unless she has a mental disability she shouldn't have a problem doing something that a three year old can do.

3) Akane is always forcing Ranma to eat her cooking even though she herself knows its not only bad but piousness. What kind of person forces their fiancee to eat poison? If Ranma doesn’t want to eat her obviously toxic food then he shouldn’t have to. I constantly think to myself “Who the hell is she to force it down his throat?” I have heard the arguments saying "Oh but she get's better." No she doesn't. From volum 1 to 38 she never gets better at anything she has ever tried.

4) Akane is always stupidly trying to help Ranma in his fights even when he tells her to stay out of it. I mean even Shampoo and Ukyo are smart enough not interfere in Ranma’s fights and their almost 100 times more skilled in the arts then Akane. Anyway since Akane is too stupid to listen, she usually runs strait into Ranma’s fights and then ends up getting caught up in it. Meanwhile Ranma gets distracted trying to save her and gets even more beat up. Then after Ranma finally saves Akane she usually has the nerve to punch him in the face and say “Let me go you pervert!” This one in particular really pisses me off. If Ranma is nice enough to try and save her after she stupidly get involved in his fight, you would think she would show a little bit of frekin gratitude. I mean, is that what you say to the guy that has saved you're life more times then you can count? Of course not.

5) Ranma loves the martial arts. It's his whole life, so why would anyone that loves the art as much as him, be attacted to someone much less love a person that only dose martial arts when she angry or has to beat someone up. The only time Akane trained was in the beginning when she had to beet up the hoard of boys at school. But after the boys stopped, so did her training. Oh and lets not forget when she trained in the 'OVA Akane and her sisters'. In that very OVA Nabiki herself says "Akane doesn’t take martial arts seriously. She only jogs to keep in shape." Also the fact that she defeated Natsume and Karumi is total BS considering that one, they have been training their whole lives while Akane only trained for a week, and two Ranma had to help her in the end.

And just so I make myself clear. Akane is NOT a martial artist. It angers me to no end, that she has the audacity to say "I'm a martial artist too." The fact of the mater is that Akane doesn’t want to be a martial artist; she doesn’t even care about the art. All she ever does is punch straw dummies of Ranma and break bricks when she’s pissed off. I also don’t see her trying to learn new moves or progress in the art, in any way. She approaches martial arts as if it were a hobby, and not a way of life. I have heard the argument “Well no one will teach her including Ranma.” I personally agree with this remark, and think it’s rightfully so, because Akane has never proven to Ranma or anyone else that she’s ready to take her martial arts seriously. In the anime however there were a few instances where she will take charge like the OVA “Akane and her Sisters” but the few times she actually took the art seriously, she only did it because she had to beat someone up. And lets not forget the the 'Super Soba.' She went around pretending that she worked hard to gain all that strength when all she did was accidentally drink Hopposi's soup. She doesn’t do the art because she wants to or enjoys it, she does it only when she mad or has an adversary to take down. Basically, she’s a disgrace to the name martial arts. The martial arts were created to show a sense of pried, grace, dedication, honor, and fighting skill, none of which Akane has. So again Akane is NOT a martial artist.

6) Logically speaking these two should never like each other in a romantic sense. Akane's always beating Ranma up for things that are not always his fault and never gives him a chance to explain himself, while Ranma keeps calling her names like a 12 year old. Now I don’t care how much a couple loves each other, two years of physical abuse and name calling would break anyone up. I will admit that Ranma and Akane do have some really cute romantic moments together, but a few cute moments really don’t make up for the 4 out of 5 times that their at each others throats. I am aware that Ranma and Akane are fictional character but every relationship whether fiction or not, has to have some real and factual bases. So what's Ranma and Akane's logical basis for being in love with each other? They really don’t have one. The only reason Ranma likes Akane is because she’s the only girl he's ever gotten to know (and that’s due to the fact, that they are forced to live under the same roof) and Akane only likes Ranma because he was the first boy that didn’t challenge her for a date. That’s it. That’s their Big logical reason. This sounds more like a third grad crush or a ‘first love’. They show nothing to signify any deep connection or bond with each other. The thing about crushes and first loves is that the two people only think their in love with each other so they act accordingly, however once they meet someone else that they truly have a connection with the crush ends. Ranma 'could' have had a real connection with Shampoo or Ukyo, but Rumiko never gave Ranma the chance to explore those possibilities. If he were to give the same opportunity to get to know Ukyo or Shampoo as well as Akane, I doubt he would pick the one girl who shows him the least amount of affection. Ranma never even gave the other girls a chance before completely dismissing them as potential love interests. It’s sad really. I bet he doesn’t even know when their birthday's are or what happened to their parents.

In truth I really don't know how so mean people get suckered into thinking that Akane is cool and that Ranma and Akane are descended to be together. Akane shows more then half the time that she's anything but nice and Ranma and Akane act more like brother and sister then lovers. Sure they are in love with each other, but that's only because Rumiko says so, not because the have this "great connection" together or any such nonsense made up by fans. From a Physiological stand point these two make a horrible couple and have nothing in the way of logic to keep them together. Romantically anyway.

So in conclusion this is why I hate Akane. You can feel free to disagree and or debate with me but I wouldn't bother. I have debated the issue several times and I have heard every stupid and lame excuse possible for Akane's crappy behavior. I have won every debat I have ever taken on because I have done my research but like I said, feel free to challenge me if you dare. Muhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuh

4) Don't post, draw, write, or do anything that'll break the club's spirits. If you like Akane thats fine but please take it else where and leave us alone.
